Storyline
In the seventy two hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element--the British weather. Britain's chief meteorological officer James Stagg (Scott) is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on. With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower. With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance. — GardenKeeper

Fun Facts
It was adapted from a stage play that premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe. David Haig's play Pressure debuted at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe before transferring to London's West End. Anthony Maras and Haig co-wrote the screenplay, expanding the theatrical chamber drama into a cinematic thriller about the 72 hours before D-Day.
Focus Features bought it while cameras were still rolling. Principal photography began in the United Kingdom in September 2024, and Focus Features had already acquired North American distribution rights by November 2024 — a confident pre-release purchase for a mid-budget WWII drama.
The director also edited the film himself. Anthony Maras is credited as both director and editor, giving him complete control over the pacing of the weather-forecasting standoffs. He also co-wrote the script, making this an unusually auteur-driven project for a Working Title/StudioCanal co-production.
It was shot inside a historic Rothschild mansion. Filming locations included Mentmore Towers in Mentmore, Buckinghamshire — a 19th-century neo-Renaissance country house built for the Rothschild family — which stood in for Southwick House, Eisenhower's actual D-Day command headquarters.
