Plot Summary

Anna (Tabu) is a librarian in Ooty, who can see ghosts and helps them complete their missions on Earth so they can leave for heaven.Gopal (Ajay Devgn), Madhav (Arshad Warsi), Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor), Laxman 1 (Shreyas Talpade) and Laxman 2 (Kunal Khemu) are orphans who stay in an orphanage and are the first batch to have stayed there. The orphanage is funded and managed by Jamnadas (Uday Tikekar), who was a successful businessman, and is located in Ooty.Gopal is bad-tempered and breaks the fingers of people who show him fingers. At night, Gopal slept with fear that a ghost will come in front of him, which led to his friendship with Laxman 1. Among the orphans, Jamnadas's favorite was Pappi who tends to forget things.One night, Gopal, Madhav, Lucky and both Laxman find a baby girl at the gate of the orphanage. They name her Khushi. They take care of her till she grows up. The five boys know Anna as she worked in a library with her father where orphans used to frequently visit. Anna could see spirits and the five boys knew about this.One day while playing cricket, the ball goes to a vacant bungalow belonging to Jamnadas's close friend. Madhav scared Gopal which led to a fight. Gopal gets punished and hence decided to leave the orphanage with Laxman 1. Madhav, Lucky and Laxman 2 also left. Jamnadas and Khushi missed them every day. Later, Khushi was adopted by colonel (Sachin Khedekar).Gopal and Laxman 1 work for Babli Bhai (Sanjay Mishra). Madhav, Laxman 2 & Lucky work for Vasooli Bhai (Mukesh Tiwari). These trio work to fear people and make them leave the house. Then Vasooli Bhai buys the property from their scared owners at half the market rate. The five find out that Jamnadas has died and there is a ritual to be done for him. They return to the orphanage after 25 years. They find paintings on the walls of the orphanage. Madhav challenges Gopal to enter the bungalow. The trio, Madhav, Lucky and Laxman 2, run to do their previous prank on Gopal. Laxman 1 also enters the bungalow. All five of them get scared by seeing a girl (Parineeti Chopra).They meet Anna Matthew (Tabu), Colonel and Damini, the bungalow's caretaker. Anna introduces the girl as Damini, Colonel's caretaker. The colonel is blind. The five returns to the orphanage for the ritual. Vasu Reddy (Prakash Raj), a trustee of the orphanage, tells all the kids that they will be shifted to another orphanage. Laxman 1 gets possessed and talks in Nana Patekar's voice which scares Gopal. They call Anna to help find what the ghost wants, she suggests them to stay in Colonel's house till the time she can get rid of the ghost.Later, Madhav gets possessed and talks to Vasooli saying that Vasu Reddy wants Colonel's house empty, and he and his friends can get it emptied. Madhav he is sent back to Ooty with his friends to stay and remove the members from the house who are none other than Gopal and Laxman 1. The five fight daily which causes Gopal to feel something for Damini. Soon they unite after Lucky gets possessed and find out about Vasu Reddy's plot to empty the house. Anna convinces everyone to stay for a few more days.Madhav, Lucky and Laxmans tell Gopal to express his love to Damini. Pappi (Johnny Lever) enters and tells them that Damini (Ashwini Kalsekar) is his girlfriend and alive. They find out that Damini they were introduced to is dead, is a spirit and is Colonel's daughter. Pappi and Vasooli come and the spirit scares them.Anna reveals them the truth that the ghost is none other than their own Khushi. Khushi tells her tale. She met Nikhil (Neil Nitin Mukesh) and fell in love with him. Later, she witnesses Nikhil killing Jamnadas. Nikhil strangles Khushi to death. With Vasu Reddy's help, he proves Jamnadas's death as a suicide and Khushi's as an accident. Nikhil was working with Vasu all along on his plan to develop a property on orphanage land and colonel's property (which was right next to the orphanage).Anna and the five boys plan to make Vasu confess everything about that night with the help of Pandurang (Vrajesh Hirjee). Khushi, Pandurang and gang create a series of circumstances that convinces Vasu that supernatural powers are at play that might have been a result of Vasu participating in the murders of Jamnadas and Khushi. Vasu is just about to confess his crimes, but when their plan was to be completed, Nikhil comes in, which infuriates Khushi. Nikhil again re-iterates his plans to demolish the orphanage for his projects. Khushi beats Nikhil herself to the extent that he confesses his crimes. Khushi gets justice and happily goes to heaven.

Storyline

Gopal,Laxman1,Madhav,Lucky and Laxman 2 live in orphanage of Jamnadas.One day they come across an abandoned baby outside the orphanage and name her Kushi.Gopal and Mahadav don't get well with each other and often have fights.Gopal leaves the orphanage with Laxman 1 and Madhav also leaves with Lucky and Laxman 2.Years later they have grown up an earn good by doing con jobs and send a share to Jamnadas's orphanage.One day they come to know that Jamnadas is no more and they go to attend his prayer meeting.Anna their childhood friend who can communicate with spirits meets them at a prayer meeting.While the 5 boys leave the orphanage after the prayer meeting a strange figure follows them.Anna is sure the boys will come back in orphanage as the strange figure wants their help. — alex.mjacko@mypeepul.com
