The adventures in time and space of the Doctor, a Time Lord who changes appearance and personality by regenerating when near death, and is joined by companions in battles against aliens and other megalomaniacs.
Traveling across time and space, the immortal time-lord known as 'The Doctor' travels across the universe with his many companions and his loyal shape-shifting space-ship: the TARDIS. The Doctor faces many threats across many generations: from the Daleks, the Cybermen and his time-lord adversary the Master to the sinister Davros, creator of the Daleks. — Johnny The main character is a humanoid alien who uses the alias "The Doctor". He is one of the so-called Time Lords, an ancient race of extraterrestrials who have invented time travel technology. The Time Lords have sworn an oath to not interfere in the universe; those who reject the oath and leave their home planet to have first-hand experiences in the universe are referred to as "renegades". Having fled the planet long ago due to perceived oppression, "The Doctor" travels across time and space in attempts to intervene in crises, to rescue lives or cultures, or to face his foes. Along for the ride is a small army of traveling companions who join him in risky missions. Each one eventually departs or dies, but the journey never ends. The Doctor himself suffers a number of temporary deaths or death-like events. Like others of his race, he has the ability to regenerate into a new version of himself. The incarnations of the Doctor tend to have different physical forms and rather different character traits, but their primary goals remain. The First Doctor is a stubborn and abrasive old man who is distrustful of nearly everyone, the Second Doctor is a seemingly light-hearted tramp who habitually manipulates both friends and foes to achieve his goals, the Third Doctor is a self-styled man of action who works as a member of a military organization, etc. Constantly changing forms and personas, the shape shifting protagonist finds ways to survive the many conflicts in his path. — Dimos I The main character is a humanoid alien who uses the alias "The Doctor". He travels through time and space in the TARDIS, a curious device, larger on the inside than on the outside, which was designed to change its appearance to suit its surroundings. Unfortunately, the Doctor's TARDIS seems to be broken, and always appears as a blue British police box. The Doctor has a soft spot for the planet Earth, and often visits there, either to save it from various alien threats or to whisk a choice few inhabitants away to the distant parts of the galaxy to help him fight evil there. The Doctor has many foes, including Daleks (led by Davros), and the Master, another renegade Time Lord. Time Lord biology enables them to regenerate their bodies, and so both the Doctor and the Master appear to evolve over the years. — Murray Chapman 2 more See all
