Markian Tarasiuk is a Canadian Ukrainian actor/director who landed his first feature role with a supporting role in the high school comedy, Status Update (2018), starring Ross Lynch, Olivia Holt, and Harvey Guillen under Scott Speer’s direction, written by Jason Filardi, and which was produced by Brightlight Pictures/DNA Pictures/Heyi Capital. Tarasiuk returned to theatrical features after appearing as an actor in several made-for-TV Canadian movies as director/co-writer/co-star/executive producer of the Canadian horror movie/mockumentary, Hunting Matthew Nichols (2024), co-written by Sean Harris Oliver, starring Miranda MacDougall, and distributed widely in 2026 by DeVuono Releasing.
Markian Tarasiuk was born and raised in the Canadian city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, by his Ukrainian parents, sister, and brother. Tarasiuk attended and graduated from Langara College’s Studio 58 Theatre training program in Vancouver. Tarasiuk has been in a relationship with actor Lauren Jackson. Tarasiuk’s height is 5’ 11”.
