Bodhi Rae Breathnach is an English-Irish child actor who emerged to significant recognition in her impressive feature film debut as the eldest daughter of William and Agnes Shakespeare in director/co-writer Chloe Zhao’s film version of Maggie O’Farrell’s acclaimed 2020 novel, Hamnet (2025), starring Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Emily Watson, Joe Alwyn and Jacobi Jupe, launching at the Telluride Film Festival and released by Focus Features (U.S.)/Universal Pictures.
Breathnach landed her first co-starring role in the Jason Statham-starring and produced action thriller, Shelter (2026), with Bill Nighy, Naomi Ackie, and Daniel Mays under Ric Roman Waugh’s direction, produced by Black Bear Pictures/Punch Palace Productions/Cinemachine/Stampede Ventures, and released wide by Black Bear Pictures.
Breathnach joined the ensemble of director Georgia Oakley’s and screenwriter Diana Reid’s screen version of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility (2026), starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles, Caitrona Balfe, Frank Dillane, George MacKay and Fiona Shaw, and which was funded by Focus Features/Working Title Films/November Pictures/Kiddo Films, and released by Focus Features.
Bodhi Rae Breathnach was born and raised in Limerick, Ireland by her parents, including father Danaan (children’s television producer). Breathnach lives in London, England, with her parents.
