Adrian Chiarella is an Australian director/writer who began his professional filmmaking career as an editor, moving into directing on Australian television, and followed by making his own acclaimed short films, including Touch (2014), Black Lips (2018), and Dwarf Planet (2020). Chiarella made his feature theatrical debut as director/writer of the gay-themed supernatural horror movie, Leviticus (2026), starring Joe Bird, Stacy Clausen, Mia Wasikowska, Ewen Leslie, and Nicholas Hope, produced by Causeway Films, and which premiered to strong reviews at the Sundance Film Festival and was released widely by Neon.
Adrian Chiarella was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, by his parents. Chiarella studied filmmaking and graduated from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. Chiarella is gay. Chiarella lives in Melbourne, Australia.
